EE m90 kit install on Saleen

I'm impressed that you have been working on the hood already. It looks great. What did you use to cut it?

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see you install the cooler. As you can imagine, it wasn't cheap to purchase initially either, and it would be a shame to not use it.

I used a cut off wheel and an easy steady hand lol. I want to use the aftercooler but don't want it to be a waste of time, i'd think the water in the aftercooler system would have to be ice cold to have a worthy cooling effect but like I said previously, I could be completely wrong. I could always add it later on down the road if intake temps get to high

hate to burst your bubble, the the raise on that hood isnt wild enough. the throttle body elbow will hit

I'm still working on a frame for under the scoop, when I slide it in it will bow up a bit. And the raise on the scoop is 2 1/4". I'd have to measure the aftercooler again but I believe it is 2". I've been thinking alot about water injection as well, no methanol tho, I don't want to deal with trying to tune it with meth kicking in and changing the air fuel ratio. Straight water will still provide a good cooling effect, it will help create a seal between the rotors and housing and help keep the housing cool. Not to mention squeaky clean internals. I'm indecisive if you couldn't tell lol

By chance does anyone know the oil capacity of the m90 in the x-charger kit from explorer express? Or what kind of m90 they used? Need to fill it but I don't want to under fill it and I don't want to over fill it

Nvm, I just talked to dave, the owner of explorer express. He said to just fill it to the fill hole. I should be able to at least get it filled and the egr solenoid and backpressure transducer mounted. Will post pics

You make a very good point, I guess i'll have to take some measurements and see how it looks. It's more or less a prototype so worse case i'll cut the sides of the scoop out and widen it. Maybe even round the sides of the scoop. Might look better that way. We will see. As of right now I don't think I'm going to start out with the aftercooler. A little ways down the road once the hood is done and I have an idea of iat's i'll bolt it on. Then I can record iat's before I install aftercooler and after to see how well it cools, I'm sure dono and rpcaster would like to know how well it cools as well as anyone else that's thinking about having one made.

i was going to make don a hood for his truck because of that cooler, but like we said, he never did put it on. what i was going to do was (or did, started cutting some stuff then stopped) use the tops of the fenders, weld them to the hood, then cut the hood, and joint them together. that way they matched the body lines, and curves of the truck.

That's not a bad idea. I should be able to get the blower on and the idler bracket and pulleys on this evening. Will post some pics

when i was going to make dons hood, this is what i was doing

the masking tap was the area that i would have had to open if i remember correctly

i started higher up so i could cut the curve into the tops of the fenders in (because i knew it would have taken more then one cut to get it correct), then once i got it for both sides, i was going to bring it down. what i thought was the nice thing about doing it like this was, because it was the fender tops, it would already match the curves of it, and it would have also matched the body lines in the hood as well. plus you could bring the rise of the front part of the cowl out a lot nicer verse it coming up and out of the hood straight up, but thats me.

That's bad ass, definitely looks like it would match the rest of the truck.

Well got a few things done today. Relocated the egr solenoid and backpressure transducer. Got the pulley bracket on and mounted which took a lil work, just had to cut some bolts to size, got the elbow mounted to the blower and the stock 90 mounted to the ee elbow. sadly when I sent my woman to get supercharger oil she got the 4 Oz bottle and not the 8 so once again the blower can't go on till I get more oil. Hopefully i'll get to work on it before my next day off, Sunday  I took a few pics

As you can see in the 3rd picture I had a couple close calls as far as where I put the new iat sensor and where the ee elbow, bypass valve, and vacuum t almost hit but I got lucky and they all kept there distance. Test fit up revealed that getting the egr to bolt up to the stock 90 is going to be a pIta but i'll deal with it when the time comes.

Lol I've been keeping up with your thread , saleen with a m90 very nice , had to laugh when I saw the blue flames from evil, keep the pics coming so we can live vicariously through you lol

Well I finally got a little more work done on the saleen. Supercharger is on, for real this time :D and the snout support and heater bypass tube are installed. All that is left is coil brackets and plug wiring, vac routing, and fuel pump change out. Finally got in the garage at the new house so I can work on it a little each night. Took some pics

Well, she's finally done, got the tank dropped and the pump changed, vac lines routed and hooked up, plug wires cut and made, and alot of other stuff I can't remember. Went threw hell trying to find a 3.5" mandrel bent 90 degree tube to use as intake but I finally found one. Finished the install around 815 last night and loaded the first tune from torrie. Go to start it and wouldn't fire, I could smell the fuel and already new it was going to be too rich before I even turned the key. Emailed Torrie and reduced the curve to .70 and still wouldn't fire, too rich. Got a new tune from him to load up and try when I get home. I'll be sure to take a video. I wanted to take more pics throughout the install but got carried away with the work. If there are any other pics anyone needs or wants let me know and I will take em and post em. Next post will include a vid of her runnin.

Very Nice!
Cant wait to see the vid.
Your gonna have some new found power under that hood!

can smell fuel huh? sound like the very first time i tried starting it with that blower. double check your plug wires. its easy to screw them up now the coil packs are tilted downward and not to the side

oh, one other thing. if your no longer using that intake plaque, i um.. can take that off your hands :D
