I know the acronym-just need the part reference at Autozone

Or anywhere else. I am not near my truck to look at it.

Yes. This thing...

Do not get a parts store DPFE, I've had nothing but bad luck with them.

Get an OE one from one of the online Ford parts dealers. Your original will look like what joe dirt posted. The ford replacement will be the newer plastic version and come with a new plug. You will have to cut and soldier the new plug in.

looking to sell one Joe?

Joe Dirt, looking to sell one? Is there a way to test this part? heck, it still could be the lines? (Not likely, they are all new)

Sorry, I don't have a spare. (this one was junk) I bought one form Autozone, the one with the 2 year warranty, it was about $50. I've had it on since last fall, and haven't had a problem, it was plug and play.

so no need for the OEM part

If this was a new car I would go OEM, but with 149K and this being a non critical part (the car will run if it fails) an autozone part with a 2 year warranty works for me. Was it a duralast part? I normally go autozone for parts and have had good luck.

Sorry- I meant Advance. I think it was a Wells part...

oem

I have replaced the DPFE twice. Once from Autozone...lasted less than 2 yrs. I then purchased a Ford DPFE from directfordparts.com for about the same price as an autozone aftermarket one. Go for the original Ford part for this item.

If it lasted less than two years why not just warranty replace it.

dpfe

I replaced the autozone part with a Ford part for a few reasons. First, I didn't want to replace an inferior part with an inferior part. Secondly, according to the Motorcraft website, there were two different DPFE sensors used for 97 EX SOHC depending on VIN #. Autozone uses a one size fits all policy for my year.
