Since my SOA my rear has sagged down about .75". I was thinking of doing a helper sprig to put some curve back into them. Is it going to change the ride that dramaticallY? I know it will some but how much? Maybe it will be good to equal it out the the front tight t-bars.

Anyway, anyone ever tried one of these cheap ones from a place like Pep Boys? Or would I be better off with an add-a-leaf setup?

Explorer Pro-Comp #EXP-13120

Got to SummitRacing.com and order the add-a-leafs. When I did the TT on the front of my Sport I added 4-door leafs and the add-a-leafs on the rear. The rear was softer than the front...imagine that! I have air shocks on the rear and put some air in to firm up the ride to match the front.

I recommend them and do not think they are harsh at all.

Hey Mascman...how much lift did you get from the Pro Comp add-a-leafs? Was if a full 2" or more?

4 door leaves?

Mascman-
How did the 4 door leaves affect the height and ride of your sport? How much lift did you get from the add-a-leafs?
Where did you get your air shocks? What brand are they and what is the part number? I am going to do some towing and might swap my shocks to air shocks for the trip and then later on install them on the trailer...
Thanks!
Nice truck!
Rick

When I got my Sport, the rear was sagging. The first thing I did was install the air shocks. They are Monroes from Advance Auto Parts and were around $50.00. Run the plastic air lines through some rubber hose to keep them from rubbing on the frame, etc. I put the valve stem in the compartment were the jack is stowed.

I'm sorry to say, but I am not really sure how much lift was gained. I like to get a lot of work done at one time and not have to do it as often! I bought new leafs ($75.00 each at local auto parts) and installed the add-a-leafs before I put them on the truck. I'd say that the add-a-leaf added around 1.5" just by the amount of arch they had. Combined with the Warrior shackles, the rear was even with the front when I had the TT set at 2.5". With the TT at 2" it has a nice stance...slight raise in the rear.
I said that the add-a-leafs don't give a harsh ride. Let's change that to "not too bad". Normal driving is great. When you go over speed bumps it's harsh...but that's what speed bumps do. I tow a small dune buggy and have no complaints.

I would HIGHLY recommend any Sport owner to change to 4-door leafs whether your lifting it or not. Get rid of that saggy ass! Hope that helps.

Just to clarify:
ExplorGM - Thanks...there are lots of nice rides here. I would recommend the Monroe air shocks. Let me know if you have any other questions.
jordan23 - I don't think the add-a-leaf was enough to give it 2". That's why I installed the 4-door and add-a-leaf and Warrior shackles all at the same time. I figured it would be better to bring the rear up as much as possible and then match the front to it...worked out fine for me.

Sorry to take up so much space!

Thanks Mascman!

Thanks for the info.
Do you know the part numbers for the shocks?
Rick

ExplorGM I don't know the #. I looked through my papers and can't find the receipt. I bought them at Advance Auto Parts. Sears can probably get them too.
I paid around 50 to 55 dollars. I was told that the Monroes were better then the Gabrials...I've had good luck with both.
