I have a 99 Ford Explorer Sport, and the door locks are randomly unlocking themselves. Sometimes its a matter of seconds, and sometimes it can be several hours or even a couple of days. This is very irritating. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas?

Thanks!

Jason

My friend had this happen. It was a defective RAP module.

Thanks Succi - is that something that can simply be disabled or does it have to be replaced? I don't have to use the keyless entry.

He disconnected the rap module until he could get it replaced. I don't know if anything else had to be done to bypass it. It is located on the drivers side rear wheel well and is accessable through the interior jack panel.

Yes Jason my 2001 XLS drivers door has this problem. If it’s a wiring problem then I don’t think I can diagnose the problem. I would like to know who with this expertise to take it to.
