so lately the door ajar switch on my drivers side door has been acting up, nothing major, i've just got to jiggle it a bit when i leave the car to shut the radio and stuff off.

last night i was out and had no problem with it, so i thought, i locked my truck and the horn honked once like it usually does, but when i went to my truck hours later the radio was still on! luckily it started and i had no problem. parked it again and when i went out to go to work this morning the radio was still on and the truck wouldn't start.

usually i can figure these things out but its just beyond me. maybe my door switch finally crapped the bed or would there be any other things to look into??

when the truck is running there are no problems and when i lock the truck it doesnt do the double honk noting that there is a door ajar

just an update, i pulled the radio fuse and one of the 20 amp power fuses (cigar lighter), i have taken the main drain off of the battery, but what controls the power to these accessories? i pulled the accessory delay and battery saver relay and there was no change.

just coming up with blanks here, usually i can get these problems solved on my own but im just drawing a huge blank on this one

Sounds like you got broken wires or short in the boot of drivers door and the pillar. There's a write up by BigRondo.

im all too familiar with the broken wires in the boot but my thing is that even if the door switch was saying the door was closed, wouldn't the battery saver kick in after a little while? my radio was on for over 10 hours last night and that's the part that's beyond me.
