My battery is less than a year old and my alternator was just rebuilt but the voltmeter needle wiggles when the truck is running and the battery is not charging. Any ideas?

Thanks, Scott

an easy test is to hook up a volt meter at the battery to see what your getting. Should be somewhere over 14 volts at idle. 12.66 volts is a fully charged battery (if you run the truck and then turn it off and test, it'll be high because of surface discharge, turn your lights on for a minute to get rid of the discharge).

You may have a bad gauge, or your gauge wire has a bad connection.
