I bought my 91 Explorer XLT last month and it has a few problems.

Things that do not work:
The side mirrors contols does not work in any direction, the lock/unlock switch does not work on the driver and passenger side, and the cruse control does not work.

I have the remote with the factory alarm, and i can lock my can that way. I dont think i have a fuse problem, but i might be wrong. Could all of those switches have gone out together?

Any info to troubbleshoot these problems would help.

Thanks!

i remember reading somewhere (think it was some used car buying guide), that the power "cluster" on the drivers door was problematic, and i think was even recalled. Basicly, they overheat and short out. try taking the buttons out, and jumping them by hand with a small piece of wire. If that doesn't work, i'd suspect the motor.

As for the CC, no clue.

have you checked the fuses by chance?

The power mirror might just be the switch..try getting a new one..They are notorious for having bad contacts in them....

also about the recall, they short out and fry wires sometimes and if they are part of the recall, all they did was add a fuse in the system...
