Electrical problems.

The puddle lights and the interior lights on my 2004 Mercury Mountineer would not turn off when the doors are close and the vehicle locked. Can anyone tell me what the problem may be.

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the stock 2002-2005 section. It sounds like the pin switch isn't working. Do you see the dome light turn on & off when the driver's door opens & closes?

might be the door sensor, in a 3rd gen its the in the latch assembly, WD40 the heck out them. . .sometimes that works.

Try this, hit the rear defrogger and see if the door ajar comes on. If it does look at this thread. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157065&highlight=door+ajar+gem Heck if it doesn't come on still might be that ground wire. So check it out and see if anything is familiar. Oh ya, for the mean time push the dimmer all the way down they will go off that way.
