electronic compass/temp. display

i have a 1999 eddie bauer explorer,4.0 sohc engine. the electronic compass/outside temp. display does not work. nothing displays on it. i've checked the fuse,and it is good. any suggestions on what to try next? thanks,and have a great day!

You may want to see if it's tied into the dimmer switch, and see if that's making it dim and unable to read.
