Hi there, i'm going to have to be changing my gears soon, i have 33's and the milage SUCKS, so i was thinking, while i'm doing that, i might as well add a shift improver. Anyone have any opinions on which is better, a mechanical or electronic? I know the electronic has or 3 modes, but other than that, does either have any inherent benifits?

You don't have to crack open the tranny to install it.

youre right, but it just seems that something that makes a mechanism act other than it was designed to do, might put some sort of stress on it, while if you change that mechanism (the tranny) to act as you wish it to, it's better...?

but, i really have no idea, and i like the idea of another swich inside!

Your shifts are already controlled electronically. (timing, firmness, etc.) The shift improver will do the same thing to the tranny as adding a performance chip will. It won't cause your tranny to do anything it wasn't designed to do.

I don't know of any mechanical shift improver for your Explorer, or if they would do any good anyways since its all controlled electronically.

yeah, your right, i'm an idot. I'll get the electronic

get both :):)

a VB shift kit and a chip. thats what alot of us do to mustangs. neck snapping shifts.

i dont see why ya coulding in the X too.
