NEED HELP -starting problem !!

I have left my Exp in a parking area all the night ... because it didn't started !! ... I must go and repair the problem ... but I can't find it...

The symptoms...
All this days it has been starting very very good , no problems ! ... I went to a school and parked it ...after 2 hours, I tried to start it .... but it didn't do it, the starting motor was working good because it sounds very strong ...no weak. The fuel pump was working Ok , too, because I heard the buzz for 4-5 seconds in the rear end. The horn sounds strong ...no weak. The radio turned on very good, and the lights like normal ...
so I think it isn't a battery problem (maybe)...

I tried to link another car to recharge my battery but it didn't work, the Exp didn't start.

where's the problem ?? , where can I look for problem?
I think it is an electrical problem !!, but where ???

I really need your help !!!

thanks a lot !!

So it cranks but won't start? If you have fuel pressure at the rail then I'd suspect an ignition issue.

Yes!, it cranks but won't start ! ... I'm not sure about the fuel pressure in the rail ...but I heard the fuel pump working, so I think there's fuel going in the lines!

I tried to start it in Neutral, but it didn't work, either.

If the neutral safety switch in the tranny has loosed ... does the starter motor cranks ???
I have searched for other related threads and I found something related to the neutral safety switch.

But this starting problem doesn't happen about 6 months ago. I don't think the problem is this switch.

If it cranks

the neureal safety switch is fine. If you hear the pump on for 5 seconds, the pump relay is fine and power is getting to the ECM computer and it is functioning. Sounds like an ignition problem. Coil pack is three independent coils and it is unlikely all three would fail. I would try unplugging the crank position sensor on the front of the crankshaft and plugging it back in. It may have a bad connection or that mechanical mivement might get it to work again. If you do not have a pressure gauge to measure fuel pressure, you can pull the fuel pump fuse and insert probes to measure the current. If it measures 4-5 amps, you probably have enough pressure.

SOLVED !!
The problem was a false contact in the harness of the main computer (next to the door in the passenger side).
The Exp, is running againg !! :-)

thanks to everyone for your help !

i am also experiencing something quite similar ... it started off doing this once in awhile but if i let it sit for a few minutes after an unnsuccessfull start it would start again.. now it sits dead in the driveway as it wont start at all ..

it's a 2001 sport trac

engine does not crank at all, but can hear fuel pump going ..

i took it to a few garages but none of them could tell me what was wrong ..

any ideas on how to fix this ?
