Ok I have done something again, I had this small rattle/vibration of something under the dash, left side down low. So I was driving along tonight and decided that maybe if I just gave it a good smack it would stop.

What I was not paying attention to was that I smacked the Clifford Alarm Module. When I did the Theft light came on the dash and the truck started to die. Then light went off and truck ran fine. Well it did it 3 more times tonight on short runs to store.

I looked under the dash at the ribbon cable from the module that is mounted under the dash (I did not have this installed, maybe previous owner or the dealer I bought it from). All the connections look secure, would a loose connection cause this or is it something more? I will be in a big jamb tomorrow if it dies on my way to work.

Any suggestions? Is the Clifford ribbion just plugged into the factory alarm and maybe diconnecting will temp. solve the problem? It never happens at a good time, by the time I get off work it is already dark.

I need to get over the "if its broke just get a bigger hammer"

Thanks,
Sonny

I have zero experience here, but in the for what it's worth category... I am wondering if this theft system didn't have a "kill switch" type of system built into it, that would prevent the Ex from being started or driven if an unauthorized entry occurred. Your good old whack may have damaged the system itself, more than just loosened a wire. I'd see if you cannot find a phone number for the company and ask them about this scenario. I suspect simply disconnecting the alarm won't restore driveability, otherwise any bozo car thief could jump in, and disconnect it and drive off. Good luck

Happy Exploring

Chris

Thanks, it did not happen again today. It now has me waiting for the next time. I think I will go to a alarm place and get it checked into before I get stranded,
