Empty wire casings?

So I just bought at 93 explorer a couple of weeks ago. This is my first car and obviously I love it even if she has 280,000 miles.

I was checking my engine out when I noticed that a wire loom is empty


Also this wire looks like it's cut, what's up with that?

Can you guys tell me what the hell these things originally went to? Im hoping I won't have to do anything further to my truck.

Hey Bagofchicken, I just took a closer look. So yeah you were right the casing was just peeling away from the battery. I just re wrapped it.

But I'm pretty sure that the cut wire is actually a part of the AC because it runs right into it.
My AC compressor caught on fire last week and I had to bypass it so this would totally make sense.

None of my vacuum lines are broken
