Wanted Engine Code p2106?

About 2 weeks ago my ABS warning light came on and then my service engine soon, light came on, I went and had a diagnostic test done and the code came back as p2106. I then googled the code-definition of code: malfunction indicator lamp and/or elctronic throttle control lamp. What does this mean? The next morning all lights were off, until yesterday. Now my service engine soon comes on and every once in awhile my 4x4 high light flashes? It doesn't drive any differently than normal. Hopefully someone out there has run into this and can help me out. I don't really want to have to take it into a dealership to have it worked on if it's something I can fix!

Yes, my interpretation is that either the throttle plate is getting stuck or the PCM thinks the throttle plate is getting stuck.

I would check to make sure the throttle plate can move freely and clean the throttle body if it looks dirty. Make sure to use a safe TB cleaner, with the coated TB on newer Fords, you can damage the coating with some solvents. If it is coated like my 97, you can clean it by just wiping with a clean rag.

Where exactly is the throttle plate?

Inside the throttle body. It is a flap that opens (or closes) to regulate the amount of air that comes into the engine. If you follow the tube that goes between the air filter and the engine, the throttle body will be attached to that tube on the engine.

Do you know anything about how to go about fixing this or where the throttle acutuator system is located? All the warning lights are now off, but just in case they come back on! I did find the throttle plate and it wasn't stuck and when I tried cleaning it off not much of anything came off onto the towel I was using.

well it may have been something small like it got stuck long enough to throw a code but loosened it self back up... or who knows a hiccup in the system i dunno if its off now dont worry about it.. but keep that code in mid and if it does come back do some research and see what you can find.. i personally dont know much about it and when i did a short search for you yesterday i ddidnt pull up much, bbut i had to go so i didnt search to indepth
