I need a little help. I've done a search and have not found any post with a clear solution to my problem. This problem just started today. While driving home from a company picnic around noon (only a 3 mile drive), I pulled into my garage to wait for my wife the engine had a miss. Now this dropped the idle by roughly 200 rpm's, it hung there for a second or two and then back up. Now when this happened the notorious check engine light came on and didn't go away for a few minutes. So I know this is an intermittent problem. I had the auto hobby shop on base scan the computer and it came up with the codes 157, 158 which is manifold air flow sensor fault, low voltage (157) and high voltage (158).
I'm obviously going to clean the (assuming the manifold air flow and mass air flow sensors are the same) MAF first, search for broken vacuum lines before spending any money. Would you suggest the next step be to replace the MAF and then the TPS, or would you T/S another direction?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated as this is my only mode of transportation and I was looking forward to installing my new Warn hubs in the near future and not troubleshooting.
