Engine compatability.

I picked up this explorer with a blown motor and would like to know what explorers came with this same engine that will bolt in. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Its a 2000 explorer eddie bauer edition with an automatic transmission and 4 wheel drive. Here's a couple pictures.

any 4.0 SOHC can work, it is fairly common to use them from newer mustangs (i think 06+). if you use the mustang engine you will have to swap over some parts though. there are a few threads covering the swap and making it work in the explorer
