2004 Ford Explorer XLS V6
I have a 2004 Ford Explorer XLS 4.0 4WD. My radiator was leaking along with the lower radiator hose, I replaced the radiator and the lower hose and started filling her back up (This car has been sitting for a good 2-3 years and hasn't been started in probably a year).

After filling her up and waiting until the water level didn't recede I started it up. My thermostat started leaking (figured it would), but there is a huge waterfall of water coming from underneath my car, I have no clue what this could be. I figured it could be draining from my ac or something so I refilled it about 2 more times to see if it continued and it did. It looks like a drain pipe, the pipe doesn't look like it leads to anything and it also doesn't seem to look as if it was broken off or cut. I'm thinking it's some kind of drain for when maybe my thermostat can't handle the pressure?

I don't want to replace the thermostat until I know for sure what the cause of this is, I woulnd't want the new one breaking. It doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere else besides the thermostat and this weird pipe.

Here is a video along with a picture.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Update: I should get a better video tomorrow, found a usb snake camera laying around.

None of you "experts" have any idea on this?

Looks like the heater core return line hose is missing from the firewall connector, except that its on the wrong side of the engine. Fords almost always run the heater and AC lines on the passenger side of the firewall.

Do you have rear a rear heater?

Nobody here is an "expert", we're all just people who own Explorers, like you.
