i have a 2017 Limited with the 3.5 V6 and only 9000 miles. With A/C on and accelerating at light to modest throttle the engine groans pretty loud. Normal? I don’t remember having this noise when the weather wasn’t so hot(90+). Thanks for any info and sorry if this has been asked before.

Hi Tom. I don't think that is normal. I never had any issues like that with the 2011 Limited I had nor with the my current Platinum although it has the Ecoboost.

Thanks. Maybe a trip to the dealership is in order

I have a 2017 Platinum and with the extreme hot weather when driving with the A / C on the engine roars a little louder than with out A / C on. I took it last year to dealer and it was found to be normal according to Ford Engineers.

It's been hot here 96 F with humidex in the 110 F + range and I haven't noticed any difference in the engine sound. Not saying it isn't possible I guess.
