Engine heating up when ac on

Hey hello I was wondering if someone could help me
I have a ford explorer 91 engine. changed the gasgekts and all. Runs smoothe, good compression and everthing but every time I turn on the AC the temperature gauge shows that the engine heats up. For the record I had this situation before changing the gasgekts;the thermostat was taken off long ago since I have tropical climate all year I did not think it would really matter and I had the cylinder heads tested: all good....
Ideas Anyone?

Have you checked the fan?

Yeah the fan integrity is ok and so is the fan clutch; works alright

ok no big problem all i did is flush the coolant twice with water and the third time with coolant. it worked for me.

Well guys I gota tell you thayt I had the radiator proffessionally cleaned inner and outer, sealed and pressure checked

My Ex did the same thing. It turned out to be a leaking tranny cooler. Over time enough dirt had collected on the A/C condensor with the tranny fluid and created about a 1/4 inch of grime not allowing air to pass to the radiator. I used engine degreaser and compressed air to clean and the a/c runs fine and engine temp is not affected any longer.

Just curious, but could you use a power/pressure washer as well to clean the gunk from between the fins of the coolers/radiator? Not a professional grade one, but like the small electric ones you can clean your car, boat, driveway, and sidewalks with?

probably not you could bend the fins on the radiator behind the tranny cooler and make the problem worse just use degreaser and garden hose.

Okay since the Radiator is clean I'll try to get condenser clean with kerosene and engine degreaser

How did you check to see If your clutch is working properly?

If your clutch is failing it could work adequately to cool in normally operation, but does not engage enough to handle the head load when AC is on.

Just to see if I should know; do u have a way to test the fan clutch maybee the way I tested it was not consistant
