My 4.0 seems to be having some compression issues. Got a check engine light yesterday and this morning it began to flash when I got on the gas.
I read a thread that mentioned the DPFE EGR sensor, and it sounded like it might be the problem. The car has hesitated this way a few times before, but always cleared up, this time it seems to be worse. At Idle it shakes/hesitates pretty bad. Under acceleration it does the same, sometimes worse than others. It feel likes one cylinder isnt firing right or getting gas/air causing the imbalance. The cold temperature seems to be problematic too. When she gets to normal temp the hesitation is less, but still there. It also seems like is partially goes away for a bit then come back. Hence i think its a sensor and not something mechanical.
Any Ideas?
Also, sometimes when I try to start it, there is a delay for a few seconds before the starter cranks. This also seems to be influenced by the cold. I think maybe there is something sticking in the starter. Any help with this is much appreciated too.
