Engine Management light on

My EML light is on continualy. 1998 Explorer 65000 mls. It does not seem to be operating a Limited power stratagy as it will do 70 mph. and rev freely. Also where is the Engine management module and its test plug. Does it have a conventioal 16 pin flat plug ? There is a plastic cap on circular device that may have plug under it, on top of engine. But is not similar to a European OBD2 test point.

Your plug is located under dash by your knee. Flat type of fitting.You could try disconecting positive battery lead for a couple of mins.this re sets computer and turns off light.I know its not fixing it,but this light can come on for so many things.My Ford dealer tells me even very low fuel level sloshing about can trigger it.If light continues to light up then get it checked.Is car starting and idling properley? If not i may be able to offer some advice.
