Guys- who nows about engine mounts here- my engine rocks hard when I rev it- I am wondering if my mounts are loose, torn, or something. I have not looked as yet so forgive me for asking and being lazy!

I find my Exhaust system keeps coming loose- and every time I take it back they say- mountings mate- !

any one had this happen and is there a tightening sequence?

If the engine rocks on revving, it's most likely to be a single cylinder misfire or a vacuum leak.

If the exhaust is a pattern exhaust, then it most likely needs to be modified and refitted, taking into account the poor build quality. If it's a Ford part, then refitting it according to manufacturer's procedures should do the trick. The basic procedure for hanging the exhaust is to mount it on the rubbers first, line it up at the tailpipe and then pull the 2 parts together at the butt joint before tightening the overlapped joint. Joint paste may help to effect a gas-tight seal, but unless the joints are mechanically sound, it will leak again.

Hiya mate- thanks for reply- The engine is running fine- and it is a kwick fit exhaust---so I would suspect that first from what you say.. I will take it off and re mount it myself after the weekend- thanks mate!
