Wonder if anyone else has or has had this problem. I have an '07 Limited V8, Auto 6-spd. Many times, when leaving from a dead stop (say a stop light or stop sign), my engine over-revs like it's a manual stuck in 1st gear (My last EX was a '91 manual 5-spd that I drove for 23 years). After a few seconds and about 30 mph, it will shift into the higher gears and run as normal. It's not my lead foot trying to beat anyone off the line. As a matter of fact, I've been having a tendency to go easier on the accelerator since I've noticed this.

I don't get a check engine light or any other indications of a problem. Do I have a malfunctioning sensor?

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Wow! I was hoping there was a "cheaper" suggestion. Perhaps I ought to employ my 3-year full coverage warranty before it expires!

Addition - I just replaced my xmission fluid about 2 months ago. All went real well and fixed the 40-60mph hesitation issue. Actually, come to think of it, that's about the time this over-revving issue began.

Any additive I can add to the xmission that may help the valve body? I'd hate to think I'm relegated to replacing the whole assembly.

Thanks.

I would have it diagnosed by the dealer before replacing anything. It may be some sensor. I had 2 shops diagnosed my truck about 2 years ago and both told me I need a new engine. I bought a used engine online, installed it and had same knocking issue coming from the new engine now. Took it to the dealer, paid $ 120 and within 30 minutes I was told it's just bad torque converter.

Thanks, PL. That's exactly what I'll do. Too bad it only happens intermittently.
