ok, here it is,
I just finished putting on a 3 inch body lift, by myself, it took 13 hours, bumpers are the biggest pain in the a$$.
the truck ran fine the day after, get in it this morning start it up and it starts but i watched as the RPM's dropped down and it stalled out. start it up again and it runs fine, pull out of the driveway and it runs like hell, the rpms were all over the place. just had the transmission rebuilt 5ooo miles ago. the only thingh i can think is that the alternator is going cause when i turned it off the guages stayed in the same place. also my oil guage runs on the N in normal and only goes up when i hit the gas hard. any help would be great.

Check and make sure all your vacuum lines are still connected and none of the caps came off the unused ports on the "octopus" where they all meet.

vacume lines

yup thats just my suggestion too, is to check those vacume lines and make sure they are stil connected or sealed properly. might have been fine starting it right after, but after driving and shifting it might have just pulled a vacume line. i had to reconnect my cruise control vacume line after i installed my 3" body lift. so they do come off.
