I'm gonna be rebuilding my Explorer's 4.0 OHV engine sometime in the next two years. Need to save up $$ and parts that's why I'm worrying about this all now. Here's a list of what I want to do, I was wondering for some input.
(NOTES: I'll be doing all machine work myself)

.030 Bore
BBK 66M Throttle Body
Mass Air Meter
422 or 410 Comp Cam
Underdog Pulley Kit
JBA Headers
High performance head gasket
Electric Fan
190 lp fuel pump
95TM heads
Performance Air Intake
Delta cam rocker arm assemblies

1) What else can I put on there, rebuild, or mill?
2) Will the setup I have now work?
3) Any idea on compression ratio?
4) What kind of fuel type?
5) About the Cam. I read somewhere, I forget where, the 422 Cam won't work with the AUTO because of idling problems. Is this true?
6) What should I do about a tune? What's the best? Or should I just go to a shop to get a custom tune? $$?

Anything else you guys can give me for input that would be great. I really want to get my truck the best it can be, I have the feeling this is gonna turn into a life-long project but i don't mind. It's something different and gives me something to waste $ on.

Don't forget a set of Delta Cam Rocker Arm assemblies.

I know some of gone with the 95TM heads to get a higher compression.. I don't think an of them went with the SOHC pistons though.

There are a couple good threads on some high performance rebuilds.. (two with 95 TM heads that I can remember).
