So, a few days ago my ex began to rev the engine right after I put it into park. The idle jumps up to between 2k & 3k (the amount seems to depend somewhat on the engine temp or run time) and stay there. Goes back fine when shifted into drive. Idle may be slightly high in drive (little over 1k), but not bad. The truck still seems to drive just fine, didnt notice any rough\bouncing idles or loss of power.

Anyone seen this before? I already tried replacing the MAF with an extra I had from the junkyard, but that didnt seem to change much. Not throwing and CEL codes either.

IAC solenoid.

That is what is supposed to control your idle speed. You should idle at about 750 - 830 rpm with a warm engine in P. Your IAC is probably sticking open. Either that or you have a vacuum leak. Check for a dislodged vacuum hose.

Thats great luck, 2 cars in 2 months w/ bad IACV. My 240sx was dying when i let up on the gas and seems to run fine now after running a ton of seafoam through it. I'll try cleaning it out.

Is it easy to remove in the ex? In my other car it was burried so i managed to clean it w/o removing it.

Very easy to remove and replace. Two bolts and one electrical connector. If you have the SOHC engine, you have to remove the plastic cover on top of the engine to see it.

It's right on top of the intake manifold on the ohv
