engine stumbles when braking (sometimes) and thud when accelerating after a coast

Not sure if these issues are related. The stumble isn't always when braking (doesn't matter if it's hard or soft stop) plus if I accelerate from a coast you'll hear a thud but I don't notice it on the highway etc usually.

I'm ordering a forscan OBD adapter so I can see the vacuum when braking can post the photos if anyone can interpret.
 






imo, and im not too sure, but sounds like a tranny thing, maybe the TC taking a bit to unlock, does the rpm seem to "free up" after that? let us know your findings!

Never considered the torque converter, I'll see if there is a way to test
