Here's a picture of my 2001 Sport bought in August 2012 with a motor that would not start.
The engine exhibited no compression, and we thought the timing chains had bent some valves, the radiator appeared to have overheated at some point (warped head blown head gasket) We eventually removed the engine and tore it down.
Tony in the next county over saw my ad on C'sList for parts off a 2000 donor vehicle and called. He needed the donor vehicle and had a 2002 SOHC 4.0 engine with 75K off his donor vehicle. We traded his engine for my donor minus engine, trans, and transfer case. Picture of the 2002 4.0 SOHC engine. Hung the engine from the engine swing this morning!!!
Question: Is this a plug and play appliction? Which wiring harness 2001 or 2002? I understand the 01 is 2nd gen and 02 is 3rd gen I would love to install the factory 02 and go. There's a nagging in my gut about the 01 intake and wiring harness. Any suggestions anyone seen this MOVIE?
