I need help with an engine swap (SOHC - OHV).

i have a 97 explorer sport with a 4.0 sohc and a 98 explorer 4 door 4.0 ohv. my timing chain tentioners went bad on the sport and no title for the 98 so i was wanting to know if the engines will bolt up the ohv engine looks smaller that my sohc engine but are the trans the same and are the bolt holes the same

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the modified 95-01 section. They should fit the same way, but the PCM, and sensors should be swapped as well. The transmission is the same.
