any 4.0 sohc will work. strip engine down to block and transfer parts on to new engine. and call it a day.
oh one more thing, remember what year the new engine is so when you buy spark plugs you get the right year. I found out the hard way. some year spark plugs are longer or shorter, causing a misfire.
wow thats tuff to decide maybe 20 hours. it might cost for a engine and labor swap more than the truck is worth if your paying a shop. I would guess 1000 for engine, and 1000 labor, and probally 300 in small parts,fluids ect.
