ok I have a 2005 ford explorer 4.0 sohc 2wd. I had the engine rebuilt but I do not think that they replaced the oil pump. The oil pressure dropped to around 8 psi at idle. it started up one morning and there was a lot of rattling so I turned the engine off immediately. I did some reading and it said that if there was a milky white substance in the oil that the heads were blown. I checked and there was no white at all in the oil. but the oil did have some gas smell to it. Any suggestions on the problem. Does the oil pump just need to be replaced or is there a much more bigger problem. the engine is out of warranty by the way. :usa:
