I have a 1992 Explorer XLT with a 4.0. I've been working on an engine change, and ran into a little trouble. I'm trying to install the new engine, but i cant seem to get the torque converter to line up with the flywheel. The first time i put it in, i had the tc bolted to the flywheel, and couldnt get it all the way in the trans, so i took it out and seated the tc in the trans. now i cant get the tc to the flywheel. Is there an easier way to do this?

The TQ converter should move up enough for you to get it to the flywheels, but also you may have damaged the front pump by bolting it to the engine and trying to mount it that way.

Wiggle the TQ converter while pulling/prying it towards the flywheel.

Thanks for the reply. For some reason, i went out to work on it today, and it just slid right into place. Also, the pump seems fine, and i have all my gears. Thanks.
