Those scream VW Passat to me lol, I dont care for them. You could tint them, its way cheaper, and looks better than most of the aftermarket tails anymore.

Actually, I like those! I prefer amber turn signals as the 2nd gen Explorers used. Where did you get them?

=Vic=

It makes it look more like the Expedition.

Well, there were two main reasons behind my conversion:

#1 Europe hasn't allowed red rear turn signals anymore since 2001. Therefore if you like to register a vehicle in Europe you need to convert to amber turn signals. This can be done by using the back up lamps with an amber bulb. But you need to add an additional back up lamp externally, more or less an ugly solution that disturbs the rear of the vehicle.

Because I do like more integrated solutions I was looking for Explorer 'export' tail lamps.

#2 When I first laid eyes on a new '06 Explorer in late '05 I was not amused... It was a gold XLT. Fender lips were dark grey, door handles were flat black and tail lamps were partially high gloss black. Plus the tail lamps look like Volkswagen Minivan/Passat.

==========

Btw, you can get these 'export' tail lights from every Ford dealer, they are called 'Japan/Australia/Europe' tail lamps and fit '02 to '10 models. Installing these lamps is easy but separate turn signal from conventional brake/turn signal is a little tricky... bat as you can see, can be done.

Will add some pics of the lamps later.

Not bad. Certainly the amber turn signals have value from a safety standpoint.

Hi Joe,

what about the fog lights?
And where did you buy these tail lamps?

Harald

Howdy Harald,

do you refer to front fog lamps or rear fog light?

The front fog lamps are as they were before, the fog light in the rear is is integrated

Btw, talked with a dealer in Nagasaki/Japan about these lamps....

I think in a few years, amber turn signal lens will become law in US.

Anyone have an actual part number for these? I saw an Explorer last week on St. Lucia and it had them.

Morning,

I think the left one is 7L2Z-13405-AA and the right one should be 7L2Z-13404-AA.

Thanks!

I like them! Does anyone know how to get a hold of those in the US?

Wish they made and I could get the red/ambers for my Sport Trac.:(
