EVAP: fuel-vapor separator

I am the newb when it comes to the EVAP system so is there a device (a "separator") between the fuel tank and the charcoal canister that prevents the fuel from over-saturating the canister? For example, when the vehicle is on a steep angle ?

Not on a 1st Gen which is one reason your not supposed to overfill your tank. You can eventually flood the charcoal canister.
