there is no way it will do the speeds the spedo says it is doing. the guy has to have it geared to hell. if he was going that fast, look at the strips on the road. they would almost have to be white lining. nice truck, yes, as fast as he wants everyone to believe, no way.

I found that a little hard to believe too, the stripes would have been going by faster than they appeared there.

i've had my needle buried at OD or D on several occaisons b4 the lift, it ended up being 96mph according to the ford focus that was following me. that was on a stock motor with 100K+ with stock 3.27 gears.

if you search around on the site theres a thread talking about how fast Drive is.

I believe it only has 3.55s or 3.27s currently...

you cant pull that speed, at that rpm unless you have donuts for tires, sorry.

my 2 cents..... don't forget it's a ranger...that thing is a LOT lighter than an explorer, but i agree as well if he re-geared it then he could not be going that fast to what the speedo says .

the speedo also only goes to eighty five not 125 so it also looks like its going that fast

LOL watch the speedo on the first shift, it appears to drop from 60 all the way down to 40, in one shift, in less than a second, no way that is right, he must have something hooked up the wrong way, or maybe just cuz its an older truck, but somehow I doubt that.:thumbdwn:

It all looks real to me....

The RPM seems about right, more so if he's using OD. I can't tell if he is from the video.

On the other hand, that motor is nice, but it's not that special. I mean he did put an off the shelf cam into it. I want to see a 4.0 decked out with completely custom internals.

My speedo bounces about 5-7 mph sometimes, right around that speed to. With all the stress and it probably being older I could believe it.

For point of reference, uaually ~10 dotted lines = 1/10th of a mile. Try it on the freeway! :D

Heres another video of the same truck...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmbIKDk8Xpg&feature=channel

Watch the 1-2 shift at 2:34....not sure if It hit the fuel cutoff or that was the tranny makin that noise.

bcburlette - I think that was the truck getting traction....sounded like tons of wheelpspin going on...

i was wondering if anyone else seen that??

lol i thought he had the rpms hooked to the speedo too, but yeah the lines are moving way to slow on the road to be going that fast

And he did it with the parking brake on! All balls you haters!

Now that I've had a chance I've run the numbers. Assuming he has 25 inch tires at 5600 RPM (where it shifts from 1st to 2nd) and 3.08 gears, does in fact equal 55MPH as shown in the video. This truck is legit.
