Today on my way back from work, doing between 55 and 75 on the highway, I noticed that when I turn the steering wheel slightly to one side or the other, the Ex feels like it is slipping in the opposite direction, like the wheels just suddenly all lost traction. Very scary!
It was bad enough a few times that I actually had to turn the wheel in the opposite direction of where I was trying to go, in order to correct for it, just like you would do in 2 wheel drive when your rear starts to lose traction in the snow. Can this actually happen or am I imagining things? What should I check? Is there some suspension component that can fail and lead to this sort of behavior? It has 126,000 miles on it and a lot of things have been failing recently.
Also, I have new tires that have only been on for about 500 miles... They have plenty of tread, and the roads were bone dry.
