Hi guys, just a quick note to let you know that yesterday the ex passed mot :)
had 2 advisories, 1 small stone chip in front windscreen and hand brake cable just passed, not bad for being in a barn for over 4 years, have now got to get lpg gas checked and then get it running on lpg and hopefully get fuel consumption up, have a problem with radio in that it will not accept code:(, i think after 4 years with no battery on it has last its code?? any help, if not will put another radio in, like the ex a lot, cannot wait till morning to drive it again, all the best.

good result there fella, 4 years in a barn, where did you buy this machine from and is the lpg single or multi point?

Hey wills1

Congrats
Word of caution, have you changed the brake fluid??
Reason i ask is it can absorb moisture and the result of this is it reduces the boiling temp and hence whilst driving you could lose a lot of force at the caliper.

On the issue of the radio is it a ford one? how many times have you tried the code? If it is a ford one and you pm me the serial no. i might be able to pm you the correct code to confirm the one you are using is correct. What does the display read as there is a lockout 13 on ford radios that can be cleared but off the top of my head i can't remember how but i could find out.

regards

Hi Guys,
Thanks for your input, firstly it was a friend of mine who had it from new, it has done just over 72300 from new, it is silver, has a towbar, very nice condition except the wheels which i am debating to powdercoat or replace, i think the first would be cheaper, unless anybody got a very nice set for good money?. The lpg gas is getting checked and hopefully serviced tomorrow so not sure if its multi of single all i know is its a emmegas system, as far as the radio it is a ford 7000 and thanks very much for offer of help but have spoken to mate and i was putting the wrong code:banghead::banghead::banghead::
so it is working now, great forum
Thanks Wills

souds like a good buy there fella.

enjoy the forum.

That's probably a single point system. Needs to be properly looked after, the early ones tended to cause a lot of backfire issues. The multi point are better delivering direct to individual cylinders

i had the single point, iv stripped it out now, only got the tank and line to the front to remove, used to back fire like mad, even had a part replaced and still didnt solve it.

Just had ex lpg checked, all ok, it is a single point have driven it from morecombe back to lakes on lpg ran a treat, filled tanks at Kendal what a price difference compared to petrol, lpg 47p a litre:):)
All the best Wills
