Weird Ex on the road today

I saw a weird Ex on the road today, maybe somebody here can shed some light on it for me. It was a 2nd gen sport, had a 98-01 sport front end but the back end was a 95-97. The Explorer emblem on the trunk looked normal, except where it should have said "Sport" it said "Expedition" in really small letters. I'm assuming she did some weird mods to it, am I wrong?

In 95 there was an Explorer Expedition package. I'm guessing they just put a newer front on.

'98s, '99-'00, and '01-'03 Sports all have different front ends. '98s and '99-'00 are different by bumper, the '98-'01 sports all have very similar, if not exact, tailgates. But yes, there were Expedition packages early on like Alec said, which look like other Sports with the grey flares and all.

I am wondering if the 95 Explorer Expeditions actually had an emblem that said, "Expedition"? I never thought they did.

yes they did have a badge saying expedition on them
