I recently went through inspection in jersey and failed cus i have an exhaust leak. I figured this was going to happen because i jumped it and i had to weld the entire system back on as a result. my problem is i have a 97 sport 2 door with the SOHC 4.0 and i can't find an exhaust systeme for it. I dont want to go back stock. Does anyone have any idea's? it needs to be dual in. I'd like dual out but i'll settle for single out.

Thanks for any help in advance.

How much of it do you need? Manifolds back? Cat back?

You jumped it???

By jumping it he means he was running w/ no exhaust system. So when he welded everything back in for inspection there was a leak as a result.

go to a muffler shop and have them set you up with a custom cat back.

Lol, actually i jumped it. like all four wheels left the gound. I was wheeling in it. it was fun... but in retrospect it could've really sucked. and do you have any idea how much that would run???

i had a custom catback with a flowmaster 40 series put on for around 150 i want to say. go with 2.5" piping though, you won't be dissappointed.

That's the deal of the century. I would expect at least twice that much.

how did u fail just for an exhaust leak? im in Ct and we took a expedition that was leaking at the manifold and we still passed. they did a visual inspection for the Cat and put the truck up on the machine and all the numbers came back good and systems checked out.

i dunno, but they're Not the most friendly people, it took them 10 minutes to find my exhaust pipe because i cut it up above the bumper. and i'm going monday to a midas to see what they're going to quote me. hopefully it's low...

are you in north jersey?

check out doug's speed shop in fair lawn. he'll bend pipe, weld, whatever to get you a custom system.

i wouldnt trust midas for any custom work

I had my 40 series catback done at Meineke Mufflers on Finderne Ave in Bridgewater, NJ for $381.00 out the door, tax included. Only took them a little over an hour and the toughest part for the guy was trying to convince the new tailpipe to slip over the rear axle.

let me rephrase. i consider it catback, because they replaced the system from just behind the catalytic converter to the end. new muffler, new tailpipe. it's 2" the entire way, but i expect going to 2.5" wouldn't have been much more expensive. i did see a slight increase in MPG and it's mroe responsive
