So i was looking through my LMC catalog and i saw some dual out exhaust kit, it said for the ranger 87-05 but nothing about the explorer, will this fit? i dont want to modify the #### out of it, maybe just cutting one or two pipes shorter, but will it fit? thanks.

You could have a custom exhaust system built for your Explorer cheaper then the kit you can find online. Go talk to a shop, see what they say. I hate to say don't buy the kit, but if you can have someone do it for you, with good welds, and you KNOW it'll work, I'd say it's all the better. Plus if you find a local exhaust shop, they'll beat out the national chain any day.

For my area I recommend this little shop in downtown Augusta, it's an old guy who always smokes a pipe named Eddie, but he knows his stuff. If you can find the same, get it done there and support your local economy.

meh the kit is 229 and the place by my house said $140 for the muffler and that they cant make it come out dual.
id rather do it myself with clamps than get it welded at a shop and pay labor prices.

No the ranger kit will not fit. I used to have a 96 Ranger and the rear portion of the exhaust is different from the explorer.

i work at an exhaust shop and i can tell you dual outs on a exploder is a biatch, but can be done. however you will need to put your spare somewhere else as it is all in the way for duals. relocate inside or something.

How would you run true duals on an explorer? Can it be done?
I was thinking cutting it at the y-pipe and running two pipes back but would there be enough room for the mufflers can they be staggered or would that alter the sound?

Hey Josh, do you know about how much he'd charge? I'm planning on moving from Hinesville to Augusta in about 4 months. I might want to get that done then :)

i was speaking of a single in, duel out muffler, but with enough time, anything could be run. if you ran a smaller pipe, and cut the y pipe you could run true duels. you would probably want to run a glass pack style muffler to make sure there is enough room. stop by your local midas, they do great work

flow master super 44 mufflers are very small.

I beileve there is enought room to stick two of em in there.

You will have to run the pipes down the pass side then scooch one over in the spare tire area but will work.
