I have a 2005 4.6L.. Since they are the same engines as the mustangs from back then, will putting a flowmaster (or whichever exhaust) make it have that,,, gargling sound that the mustangs have? My apologies if there is a post about this already, been doing exhaust searches all day it seems.. I'm wanting a nice sound but not tryin to act like Im some big lifted truck.

I have an 02 V8 XLT 4x4.
I just had a shop install a Magnaflow 18" replacement to rid myself of the factory *****.
I also have a cone filter on my MAF but no other changes.
This thing sounds mean and has a nice burble at idle. But open it up and wow.
This was in preparation of a tune and would have loved to put a true dual or even more flow, but the damn undercarriage makes it expensive to get high flow.

If you want the FM sound but not overly loud, a FM 70 would fit the bill. I wouldn't go any louder than a FM 50 if it was me.

Here's my FM 70:

Also, don't forget to extend the exhaust tips at least even with the rear bumper or side of the vehicle.
If it dumps under the car at all you will get drone.

Thanks guys, Limited02, that sounds GREAT! How much was it to have that done? Thanks for the tip advice Marked man, I was curious about that too bc I dont like the way out stock tip is but wouldnt want to make it short if its going to make it sound worse

Marked man, do you have a recording or a way for me to hear it?

Mine all said and done was around $250 if I remember correctly.

limited02, did you notice any performance gains?

The 'ol butt meter felt like it pulled better in the upper RPM's. More than anything, it just sounds a lot better.

I have and '04 4.0 V6 and I'd like to add something similar. Any suggestions?

More exhaust out, more o2 and fuel in. Performance will go up (but you probably don't have your pink on the line) and MPG's will go down.
I was going to go true dual, now just leaning on adding a FM70.
