I'd like to get some input from those who had their Explorer tranny replaced with a remanufactured tranny. Right now I'm not so interested in hearing stories out rebuilt trannies or repaired trannies. I'm trying to get opinions and thoughts on the various companies who "remanufacture" trannies. The several companies that I know of are: Jasper, ETE, DrivePower, Moveras, and PowerSource.

Specifically, I'd like to hear your experience with these companies, what your thoughts are as to why you went with who you did, the warranty you got, the cost of the tranny, if it had to be serviced under the warranty what your experience was like, and your overall satisfaction with the tranny you went with. I'd also like to know things like how the transaction was handled. Did you buy the tranny then drop it off at a mechanic and how the return of the core was handled. Also, the experience of how receptive the mechanics were with regard to you either providing the reman tranny or having them deal with the details.

Thanks in advance!

Here is a place in my area that remanufactures transmissions. I haven't purchased anything myself from them as of yet, not because of any reason. They also service and install trannys at their location. You can read up on them at their web site.
