I think the awd/4wd is incredible in this vehicle. I have a 1999 gmc k2500 also, and there have been some instances where the explorer doesn't have much of an issue and the gmc does. Dont get me wrong, with that gmc i have not gotten stuck, but with the explorer it seem it just gets through without any drama.
