I am having problems with my explorer, it unlocks on its own, and the interior lights turn on by themselfs.

I took it to an electrition he says its most likely the anti-theft system, but when removed the car wont start.

Can i by-pass it somehow?

whats the exact name of this system?

can i replace it?

Also my door has the "key" thing, but i dont have the code can i remove all this stuff all together?

thanks

...not too sure...but I have an aftermarket alarm that seems to bypass all the factory stuff. Sure, my lights don't turn on under the rearview mirrors unless I use the factory keyfob...but WHO CARES! :)

Bump.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this issue?

My next door neighbor has a 01 durango and it did this expect it would unlock and lock repeatedly, like 80 miles an hour, and wouldnt stop. It did it so fast the the door handles were shaking. It turned out to be the computer for the keyless entry.
