Well i new after i did my HD IFS build a few months back(http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=352109) that my CV's were kinda garbage, but my car fund ran out so it had to wait. i kinda forgot about it, pulled a few cars on a double axle flat bed, did some mild stock wheeling, and my wife has put 20 000kms on it. OOPS. on my last car pulling adventure the drivers side cv starting vibrating and making awful binding noises after a full throttle merge onto a highway, so i figured it would be a good time to replace. I also replaced my Stabilizer end links while i was at it. initially when i did my ifs build, someone had mentioned they were to tight, and he was right, they were already worn bad. torqued to 15ft/lbs this time instead of 34(i believe ford spec).
Driver side out, only removed lower Bj. HORRIBLE IDEA, I should have followed the write up, i did so much prying and heaving to get the ball joint back in the knuckle!
P/S out, really easy, only had removed the brake caliper, and seperated from upper BJ. took 15 minutes.
crappy old cv's
Shiny new CV's
All back together, (got really dirty and didnt want to touch my phone anymore)
eye candy anyone?
Yup i need add a leafs, and a TT BAD!
