Explorer - Electrical Issue (?)

We just purchased an '05 Explorer and have recently come up against what I think is an electrical issue. The engine will shut off going down the road, the "service engine soon" icon lights up, and you lose all power, including the power steering. I put it back into park, shut the key off, and can re-start the engine immediately.

I took the car to a dealer to run a diagnostic test on it, which he says comes up with nothing.

Suggestions?

Check your battery cables, check for corroded ground connections as well.
