Has any one tried the Handling package offered by explorer express? I was hoping for some feedback as to how this improves handling. The package costs $479.99 and includes edelbrock shocks F/R and rear sway bar. If it's not worth it, I was going to go with the Rancho 9000's. If anyone has feedback on other recommended brand of shocks, it much appreciated. I'm just trying to smooth out my ride........keep the wife happy.

How much did you spend? Who installed it?

I wanted to go with the handling package instead of the X-spec package so I don't loose any height. I do some light treading in the sand to do some fishing and need the ground clearance. Is the handling package and X-spec package ride the same. I know the X-spec is lowered and should corner better, but how about bumps and rocking?

Since you use your vehicle offroad, I would honestly get the swaybars and Rancho 9000s. The Ranchos will offer adjustability and will probably last longer.

Even though John sponsored my truck, I'm still honest ;)

I spent $ 294 for the Edelbrocks and $264 for the Sway bars, all shipped to NY. You could install all of them yourself with some basic tools. Nothing to it really. Cornering is way better than stock. Bumps are much absorbs with new shocks. What do you mean by rocking?

x-factor-

what I mean by rocking is, when I hit a speedbump at an angle, front rt....then front lt.....rear rt and then rear lt, my truck rocks enough to send the wife out the car...this would have been great for an out of a bad date, but I'm married to this one and have to keep her. The shocks aren't dead where it's bouncing on the freeway, just uncontrolled. I noticed that Alec recommended the Rancho's over the IAS because it would last longer...could you explain. The advertisements on the IAS looks sooooo good. I am just two clicks from buying the handling package from EE until I saw the recommendation of Rancho's over the IAS.

Go with the handeling package as EE built it; you will be happy.

Take recommendations from people wjo have not ised a product with a grain of salt.

call john at EE. He is very honest and spent a good 10-15 minutes of his time talking to me when I ordered a rear sway bar from him.

It seems as if it comes down to opinion. I've got OME shocks and I love them. My brother has rancho 9000's and I love them too. It depends on what you plan to do with them. If adjusability is an issue, then the ranchos are your best bet. If not, you can go pretty cheap with the shocks. Monroe Reflex for example. Definately get the bars though, but the shocks are really a matter of opinion.
Just my opinion! Ha Ha!
