explorer fuel filter

Thanks for the welcome guys.

I read up on how to change the fuel filter on my 05 explorer and
and decieded to take it to the dealer. Was impressed at all the
comments of guys who tried to do it themselves.

How much did it cost to have the dealer do it? I was thinking about trying to tackle this but depending on the price....... Hmmm...

Advance Auto has the FORD Motorcraft filters for $17.59...

I just called my FORD dealer. They want $63.60 out the door (including tax) to have them do it. The guy said if they mess it up and break the clips, it's on them.

Trying to decide if it's worth it or if I should just try it myself. Plenty of Explorers at the bone yard I can pull the clips from if need be.

Welcome to the forum! The clips are easy enough to push up with a pick in most cases but sometime they do break. You might be able to pick up at your local parts store. I have bought them before and they are normally only a couple of bucks

Welcome to this forum! Motormite sells those clips. Most auto parts stores should stock them.
