My addition of an M90 supercharger requires the addition of a boost gauge for safety and performance monitoring. My current aftermarket gauges consist of an A pillar installed oil temperature gauge for my remote filters/coolers and an air/fuel ratio meter for my custom tune.
The switch identified with the arrow selects between ATF temperature and engine oil temperature being displayed. The other switch selects between engine oil pressure and oil temperature but is not accurate for pressure on the temperature indicator.
The boost gauge I selected is an Auto Meter 2601 that displays vacuum to 30 inches Hg and boost to 20 psi.
It is a "Z" series and matches my other instruments.
I plan to mount it in a metal dash gauge cup near the A pillar.
I have decided that the critical engine readings (boost, A/F ratio, oil pressure) should be displayed in the same area and non-critical readings (engine and ATF oil temperatures) elsewhere. My new configuration will be:
the A/F meter in its present A pillar location;
the oil pressure by replacing the engine/ATF oil temperature with a new indicator (Auto Meter Z series ATM-2634):
the vacuum/boost as previously shown;
the engine/ATF oil temperature in a metal dash gauge cup above the right section of the main instrument cluster.
The right A pillar switch will select between engine and ATF oil temperature displayed on the right dash pod. The left A pillar switch will select between left and right bank wideband O2 sensors for the A/F ratio meter (currently I only one in the left bank but a bung is installed for one in the right bank).
Yesterday I removed the driver front seat to ease access to the area where wires and hoses must be routed for the instruments. I will also be modifying under dash wiring for my fuel pump controller, an A/C compressor disable switch, and a passenger side airbag disable switch. I probably will remove the passenger front seat since I'll be working in the area of the inertia fuel shutoff for the fuel pump controller. Ever since I purchased my Sport (more than 3 years ago) I have put up with the 5 sequences of 5 chimes because my airbag indicator is burned out (which I'll be replacing) in the instrument cluster. For the last year my shift indicator has been broken so that will be another item repaired.
