hey guys. I just got my ranger the other day and I was wondering.

when did ford put the dark gray interior into the explorers. my 01 ranger has it and I am going to be putting lots of explorer stuff into it and want it to match.

come on, some body has to know when the explorer got the dark gray interior.

I can tell you that I think my '97 interior is a lighter shade of gray. My co-worker's '98 is about the same shade as mine is also, just a different pattern.

My buddys 92 has a fairly dark grey interior with small darker stripes going through it.

My 95 has the light gray interior that Robert described. I know the 2001 Sport Tracs have a really dark graphite interior color option. The newer Sports may have that color option too. I'm not sure when (or even if) that dark color was ever available on the 4-doors.

hey thanks guys.

do you know if the sports or sport tracks got the full floor consoles in them? I am looking for the over head console, dual lighted sun visors, auto dimming mirror, and the floor console that goes all the way to the dash.

I'm pretty sure that the 2001 Sport Trac that I test drove had the full floor console that extended up to the dash.

My '97 Sport also has the full floor console. Ford calls it the "High Series Console".
